Privacy policy

Last updated Oct 17, 2026

The short version: we don't track you, we don't sell anything about you, and if you subscribe, your email address is stored by our newsletter provider, Buttondown, so we can send you the Friday email.

Browsing the site

• No analytics, no ad trackers. GetToolRank doesn't run analytics software, advertising pixels or third-party tracking scripts.
• No cookies from us. gettoolrank.com doesn't set cookies.
• Search stays in your browser. Site search uses Pagefind, which runs on your device. What you type isn't sent to us.
• Hosting. The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical details of each request (such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver the page and protect the site from abuse. Cloudflare also asks browsers to send it network-error reports. This is handled under Cloudflare's privacy policy.

The newsletter

• When you subscribe, your email address goes to Buttondown, the service we use to send the newsletter. Buttondown stores it and sends you a confirmation email first.
• Buttondown may record basic delivery information, such as whether an email was opened or a link was clicked, under its own privacy policy.
• Every email has an unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time, and you'll stop getting the newsletter.
• If you reply to a newsletter email, your reply goes through Buttondown to us.
• Links from the newsletter to our own site carry tags like utm_source=newsletter so a visit can be identified as coming from the email. Because we don't run analytics, these tags only show up in the page address and in Cloudflare's standard request records.

Links to tools ("Visit site")

"Visit site" buttons go through a /go/ link that immediately redirects you to the tool's website. We don't record who clicks. Today every /go/ link points to the tool's plain official site. If a link becomes an affiliate link in the future, the vendor or affiliate network may use cookies on their site to credit the referral; see our affiliate disclosure. Once you leave GetToolRank, the other site's privacy policy applies.

What we don't do

• We don't sell, rent or trade your personal information.
• We don't share subscriber emails with advertisers or sponsors.

Questions or requests

To ask about your data or have your email address removed, reply to any newsletter email or see our contact page.

If what the site does changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
